Word mark
A word mark is a graphic element that represents the name of a brand or company in a specific font and formatting. It consists exclusively of written words and, unlike other trademarks such as figurative marks, does not contain any graphic elements or symbols. The main function of a wordmark is to communicate the identity of a brand and distinguish it from other brands. A strong word mark can also help a brand to be more easily recognizable and remain present in the minds of consumers. A very well-known example is Google's wordmark.
There are legal aspects to consider when developing and using a word mark. To ensure comprehensive legal protection, the word mark should be registered in many countries. This ensures that other companies or persons cannot use the same or similar word mark for similar products or services.
