Color system

A color system is a methodical way of classifying, describing and reproducing colors, including color models, color spaces and color notations. The different models such as RGB, CMYK, and HSL/HSV offer specific ways to define colors. Color spaces such as sRGB serve as a standard reference for color reproduction, while color notations such as hexadecimal codes or Pantone color codes enable precise color communication. Color communication through color profiles that ensure consistent color representations on different devices is also important.
