Charité Building the future
The Charité is renowned as one of the world's leading university hospitals, with a rich history spanning over 300 years. To secure its future as a center of outstanding research, healthcare, and education, the German state is making a substantial investment of around 6.6 billion euros by 2050. This investment aims to create the necessary architectural infrastructure that will support and facilitate continued excellence. To bring these visionary plans to life and engage the public, we have developed an interactive website where the public can explore and experience the future of the Charité.

The Berlin Charité has helped shape modern healthcare in Germany and Europe. Founded as a plague house more than 300 years ago, Charité wants to continue to promote the future of health, care, and research as a driving force internationally.
An information hub for everyone
The construction projects on the four Charité campuses over the next few decades will be extremely complex and, with their different medical priorities for the future, hardly manageable for laypersons. With the website »The New Charité«, created on behalf of the management team of the Construction Division, led by Jochen Brinkmann, we are therefore generating a low-threshold information hub for everyone. The vision of tomorrow's healthcare is illustrated and explained there. We show the further development of the four different campuses and their tasks using complex visualizations and understandable information.
Architecture of the future
Together with the data & location experts from Ubilabs, we design and program interactive 3D architectural models of the Charité campus for the website based on a wide variety of data sources. This allows visitors of the website to travel into the future and find out more about the digital architecture models by themselves. We make the future structural changes in the cityscape of Berlin visible with the help of an interactive time slider. The animation shows the construction progress over the years. Buildings are coloured, »grow« out of the ground or »disappear« from the floor plan.
In terms of design, we gave the »The New Charité« website a modern look, with a special typeface and architecturally precise visuals.
