More Aphrike

For two years, we’ve been bringing artists from Africa and the Diaspora to the Elbe. Our next exhibition “Afrofuturism in now” opens late February.

A good two years ago, apart from our daily agency business, we founded the culture initiative M.Bassy together with others. Since then, more than 30 artists, designers, creative minds from the African countries and the Diaspora have made their way to Hamburg. At the latest event within the seven-part series “More Aphrike”, we at M.Bassy want to get to know the movement of Afrofuturism, which is experiencing a reawakening.

In our exhibition “Afrofuturism is now”, we are showing works by the artists Tabita Rezaire, Mohau Modisakeng, The Nest Collective, Sun Ra. Our guest speaker at the vernissage is Nana Adusei-Poku, to-be doctor of philosophy.
